Man found guilty of trying to force woman to have sex with him
A Las Cruces man was found guilty Tuesday of pointing a gun at a woman and trying to force her to have sex with him.
29-year-old Matthias Shackow was convicted of attempted kidnapping, assault, and attempted sexual penetration.
Police say Shackow was in his car when he pulled up next to a woman who was walking to work in South Las Cruces. Officials say Shackow the got out of his car, pointed a gun at the woman, and told her to perform oral sex on him. Reports show Shackow then heard a car horn and left the area.
That same day, reports show Shackow showed up at the woman's residence and told her he just wanted to be friends.
The defense argued the woman's story did not make sense.
Shackow could face up to seven and a half years in prison.
